The Bluewell Woman's Club of Bluewell, West Virginia was organized in January, 1980 with 40 persons signing its Charter. Today, it has 32 active members, engaged in a variety of community and civic projects.
Bluewell Woman's Club is part of the West Virginia Federation of Women's Clubs, being federated on January 27, 1980.
Since its inception, the club has been active in a wide area, most notable of its accomplishments being the $500 scholarship given to an area senior for the purpose of getting a higher education. From a modest beginning, this scholarship has grown from $150 at its beginning to present $500 just 5 short years after its existence. See the complete list of scholarship recipients.
The club is also active in public affairs, and in work with nursing homes, the literacy program, and in almost every area that affects community life.
The club continues to broaden its areas of service and strives to be an integral part of the Bluewell and surrounding communities.
